Armin Van Buuren Voted #1 Again
Armin Van Buuren has been voted the world's top DJ by the readers of DJ Magazine. If you think that sentence has a familiar ring to it, it's probably because he received exactly the same award this time last year.

In fact, the same names fill the top five slots, though in 2009, Paul van Dyk has slipped a couple of places while David Guetta rises by the same number of positions to occupy the number three position (they've swapped, in other words). Tiësto remains at two and Above & Beyond at four.

Awards & Accolades
Voted for by over 350,000 people across the world, as an indication of his prolific output over the more than 10 years he’s been dj’ing and producing. Being the official World’s Most Popular DJ is just one of his many achievements, but the driving force behind his success is an overriding passion for dance music.

What you wearing right now?
“My comfy pyjamas pants from Gap that my mother gave me for my birthday last year and an old Hawaiian Punch T-shirt.”

Monster Massive 2009
The 12th Annual Monster Massive returns after a record breaking attendance of over 65,000 last
year with an expanded venue, new areas of music and all the costumed madness, debauchery and energy that Monster Massive has become world renowned for. Due to overwhelming response, we will be combining the Los Angeles Sports Arena/Grounds & Exposition Park and for the first time in a decade to make the largest dance music massive in N. America.

Alix Perez
The title of Alix Perez’s debut album (out now on Shogun Audio) might suggest nightmarish Orwellian views of an authoritarian dystopia, but with the exception of some dark bass mechanics, it couldn’t be further away.

DJ Spotlight - - John Merki
Starting early in the year 2000, the seed for electronic music was planted in the young rising trance DJ's life. Having spent a lot of time around the video game culture, especially at the PC Cafe's, it should come as no surprise that Happy Hardcore was the first dose of electronic music to incite him. Delving deep into the "rave" culture soon after, he began attending underground events whenever possible. It was this exposure that gave life to the dream of becoming a professional Dj.
